With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

JUNE 16, 2013: ABIGAIL'S BABY BLESSING

Abigail's Baby Blessing

 
I can't explain the joy that I feel in my heart as a mother to see my daughter and her eternal companion filled with love for each other and for their new little daughter.  This is the purpose of life and of family  My heart soars with joy and tears fill my eyes see this young family and to know that they are united for time and for all eternity,  to know that the have made sacred covenants with God to be true and faithful to each other, and to be loyal to their divine roles as as husband, wife, father and mother.  A worthy priesthood holder who can bless his family and a righteous mother who seeks the Lord's guidance in all she does; that is the makings of an eternal family.  This is God's desire for all of His children.  God's plan is available to all, BUT we do have to make choices, set goals AND make sacrifices to obtain these things.  I know with all my heart that any sacrifice or effort is not to great when compared to the joy, peace and blessings that come.  To reach this point in life, as Robert and Alison have, is a blessing but is also something that they have worked their ENTIRE lives for and have desired to reach.  Those who are "chosen" by God for these blessings and joys are people who have "chosen" themselves to live and abide by God's teachings and commandments.  God has set the path and has opened it to all.  We have to chose whether to enter the way and walk the path to receive the blessings that will come from obedience.  We will always be blessed with more that we can comprehend.  No sacrifice is too great for the joys that are available to us. 
Does that mean the life is now "easy peasy" for this new family?  NO WAY!  But the joy and strength that come as they work and learn together will bless their lives forever.  It is all worth it!
God never said it would be easy, but He does tell us it will be worth it.
I love you Robert and Alison and Abigail.  Thank you for the pattern and example that you set for our entire family!!!!
