GRANDMA RICHARDSON'S VISIT
APRIL 4, 2014
We were so excited to have Grandma Richardson come visit and help us get ready for our big celebration for Joseph!
First item to get started was Joseph's cake for the court of honor/graduation party! Problem -- a huge chunk of cake remained in the pan. Thanks to Grandma's help and 3 spatulas, we were able to get the piece back in the hole!
Next challenge, to level it up a bit since I was too lazy to trim the cakes and I didn't think they would make it anyway! So, Brilliant Bethany suggested chocolate chip cookies!!! We took pieces of our homemade chocolate chip cookies that we had just made and stuck hem under each of those corners to lift them so the cake didn't sag down as you see here!!!!
In the end, we had a beautiful cake and it was all covered in yummy cream cheese frosting!!!
We also had worked hard to create "Scout Green" frosting!
President Mark Wagstaff came to me and said he was so impressed that I had
put Guacamole on the cake! It made me laugh! We had worked very hard to come up with "Scout Green!" It did resemble Guacamole!
The blue spots are on the left a graduation cap and on the right a "Y" for BYU.
GRANDMA HAS PRESENTS FOR JOSEPH
GRANDMA HAD PRESENTS FOR THE FAMILY!
It is a chalkboard that you can write on in chalk to complete the statement:
"Happiness is ____________"
We will take this to China! The kids have come up with
something new each day to write on it!
Grandmas spent literally about 5 hours working with Mason!!!
They finished his "fun book" and then put it in the "burn box" for our bon fire!
They also read lots of books!
