A BOY AND HIS ROPE
For the past couple of months, Mason has been very fond of his rope. He drags it all over the house and sometimes outside -- which I discourage because of what it brings back inside. He loves his rope! He has learned to take out small tangles and knots. He has learned to back track and "unstick it" when it won't follow. He has learned that you can't shut the door quickly behind you because the rope will get caught. He has learned to roll it up, pile it in containers, and unroll it again. He has learned that he doesn't like the rope in the bathtub because he doesn't like it wet. He has also learned that it throws up in the air better if it is waded up in a ball. If he loses track of it for a few days he is overjoyed when they are reunited -- like a dear old friend. One day, we couldn't find Mason so we all went looking. Soon, Joseph came back with a smile and said that he found the end of Mason's rope and followed the rope to find Mason asleep holding the opposite end on Joseph's bed in the basement! It is fun to watch Mason and his rope.
