With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

JULY 28, 2012 -- DAD AND JOSEPH'S BIRTHDAYS

Today we celebrated both Dad and Joseph's birthdays since Dad and the family will be out of town for Joseph's birthday.

 Dad and I went out on a little date Saturday afternoon and bought dad his birthday present -- a new pillow!!   When we arrived home, the kids had decorated the dining room area with an island theme and called out "Surprise" to dad for his birthday!  It was cute!  They also had the song "Celebrate" playing on repeat. 


 Dad turned 46 this year!  It was very festive and fun!  Dad blew out his candles and then we decided to do Joseph's candles as well since everyone will be gone for his 17th birthday.

 We then gave Joseph his birthday present!  It was at his request so he wasn't necessarily surprised, but was way excited!
Joseph is holding the complete set of Andy Griffeth episodes.



 As tradition, Mason has a turn for us to sing to him and then blow out the candles.  One of these days, he is going to be so confused when we explain that you really only get one birthday a year!
