JULY 28 -- PIONEER DAY CELEBRATION
Today we went to the Palmer Farm for a pioneer celebration.
The kids started planning out their wardrobes last Sunday -- we talked about, dressed up, pretended farm and cowboy stuff, and anticipated this even ALL week! Benjamin and Bethany ended up not going with us. They went to the library and participated in a "Civil War" even and did dances from that era with Annaliece Clark. Notice that Rebecca and Bethany are wearing pioneer dresses that Grandma Clea Beach made many years ago!!

It was so, so fun! They have a beautiful farm, garden, etc. We hung out under their beautiful oak trees, saw their beautiful gardens, the kids played with and held cats and rabbits, Rachel and David chased a pig, walked on stilts, and we had a great lunch with pulled pork from their pig, fresh milk, baked beans, and lemonade slushie!
It was a great day and so much fun!

Rachel is quite the cow girl! |

Dad was successful as long and the tops of his poles leaned against the roof of the "general store!" :) |

Sam Palmer fried chips, made funnel cake and lemonade slushie |

The Palmers are building a cute "General Store!" |

Daniel and his boots. This morning he complained he was getting blisters then we realized he wasn't wearing any socks!!! Silly boy! |
|
Mason spent almost the entire time chasing and holding the cats! |
