There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

LEARNING ABOUT THE EMBERA PEOPLE AND CULTURE

We learned that the different regions of Panama are names after the
tribal leaders in that area at the time the Spanish came and settled the land.
Our appetizer
Embera women frying Tilapia and Plantains

The woman teaches us about the fibers and colors for making baskets
Our lunch -- Tilapia and Plantains in a palm leaf cone

READY FOR OUR MONKEY ISLAND ADVENTURE!!

OUR COOL BOAT RIDE THROUGH THE PANAMA CANAL!

GOING BY A HUGE CARGO SHIP THAT IS HEADING TO THE LOCKS

ANOTHER SHIP HEADING TO THE MIRA FLORES LOCKS
WE SAW THESE MONKEYS UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL!
Rachel had brought bananas.  We saw a couple of small Titi Monkeys at a previous location, BUT our boat driver, after we saw a crocodile/cayman, saw the branches of a tree shaking and took us over underneath.  These White-faced Monkeys lept from the low branches onto the canopy of our boat!!!  They jumped to the nose of the boat and took banana from Rachel.
They jumped back on the canopy of the boat and kept peeking the faces around to look at us!!!!  Would you believe that my camera card was FULL!!!!  AARGH!!!! These are all the pictures we took.
It was a crazy fun time!  The kids went wild!!! David tried to pet their tails as they hung over the canopy edge!!!!  Our tour guide had quite the wide open eyes as he called out to sit down and don't touch the wild animals!  Our boat driver headed back out.  It was WILD and fun!!!
Total chaos of excitement for a few minutes!!!!
I'm not sure who is the wilder animals -- the monkeys or my kiddos!!!!

Second "Cayman" we saw in the wild!
This one was at the boat dock!!
As we got off the boat, he had his long nose in the air and was chomping
multiple times on something!!!
Can you see that dark spot in center at the grass line?
