There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

JULY 12, 2013: AN MTC REUNION

AN MTC REUNION
JULY 12, 2013

Hyrum and Melissa overlap in the MTC for only 6 days!  With 3,000 missionaries at the MTC, we didn't know if they would see each other!  We received an email on July 15th from Hyrum letting us know that they had met finally on Thursday, July 12th, by accident, in the cafeteria!  I wish I could have seen their surprise greeting that Hyrum describes.  Knowing Melissa, it wasn't quiet but was full of excitement and love!!!!  What fun!  Hyrum and Melissa have always been close -- only 14 months apart -- and it is so appropriate that they serve missions at the same time!  What a blessing!
This one is per mom's request!!!  So awesome!
QUOTED FROM HYRUM'S WEEKLY EMAIL:
On Wednesday, when Melissa was supposed to come in, I spent about an hour waiting for her car to come, but apparently she just walked in! So I was sitting eating breakfast on Thursday, minding my own business, and I looked up and there she was! I was so excited! I got up and gave her a hug, which was received by surprise from all the other missionaries around us. (NOTE FROM MOM: When you are a set apart missionary for the church, you put a lot of things aside and one of them is girls, flirting, hugging girls, dating,  etc. So for Hyrum to jump up and start hugging a beautiful girl that no one in his district had seen before was a bit of a shocker!  This added info makes the story a bit funnier!  I am sure their excitement to see each other created a bit of a scene!)
Our meal times overlap by about 15 minutes, so I've been able to see her at almost every meal these past few days. It's been really fun!
Attached are some pictures of us.
Melissa wanted me to tell you that her P-Day isn't until Wednesday, so she can't email you yet, but she will.
They both look so happy and amazing!!!

Our missionary countdown for Hyrum!  Melissa's is in process!
We change the number each night at family prayer and then include our missionaries in our family prayer -- and of course they are still sung about in our prayer song!!
