There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

AUGUST 15, 2013 -- MILL WORM SCIENCE LAB

MILL WORM SCIENCE LAB
AUGUST 15, 2013

After cake decorating, we moved onto bugs.  Daniel had a science experiment involving "millworms" but I had no idea where you found mill worms.  Thanks to some help from Mr. Google, I called the pet store, learned how they were purchased and requested Dad to make a stop off at the pet store for some live mill worms.  It was an interesting event and
some of the kids named their little friends!
I made sure that they were all removed from the house at the end so that I didn't have an infestation start in our food storage!!!  We all agreed that the millworms did not like the frozen paper towel and they preferred the moist and dark "climate."

SCHOOL SUPPLIES ARRIVE!
AUGUST 12, 2013

We have been anticipating the arrival of the UPS truck at our front door and the day was met with great glee and squeals!  Each of the kids had 4 boxes each of school supplies and manuals, books, science experiment supplies, etc.  It was like Christmas!  We had all read started school, but it made it so much easier to finally have our books!!!
Mason is quite excited to start kindergarden!

AUGUST 2013 -- TEMPLES UNDER CONSTRUCTION

TEMPLES UNDER CONSTRUCTION
AUGUST 2013

With our visit to Nauvoo and learning about the building of the temple there, it is very much like David to come home and to start building temples!  He has looked at pictures of almost every existing temple and has built quite good replicas with his white dominoes.  Daniel likes to join in the fun, too!

FINAL NAUVOO PAGEANT POST -- JULY 2013

FINAL NAUVOO PAGEANT POST
JULY 2013

So I promise, I think, that this is the last Nauvoo pageant post.  I went through the picture CD that they gave us of all the pictures taken at the Nauvoo Pageant by the official pageant photographer.  I make a collection of pictures that included someone from our family and other pictures that had meaning to us.  It is a LONG post of pictures, but I want them recorded!
I will try to tag who you should look for in the picture!!
Good luck finding them!
