There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

2013 AUGUST 1 -- GREEN CAST TALENT SHOW

GREEN CAST TALENT SHOW
AUGUST 1, 2013

It was fun to watch and participate in the talent show at Nauvoo.
It is fun to see the variety of things that families do together!
Our family finally fulfilled a dream of Vernon's!
Dad has been wanting or family to learn the "Rock Island"
train scene from "Music Man for about 15 years now!
We finally did it!

Mason starts us out by saying .....
"Rock Island to River City! All Aboard!!"

Bethany is our lead "salesman" with all of her parts!

Daniel is our "Whaddya Talk, Whaddya Talk" guy!
Rebecca's like is "Where dya get it?"
David says "But he doesn't know the territory!"

Here are pictures of some of our friends from Nauvoo!!!

Brother Christiansen

Here is the beautiful poem Brother Christiansen shared:

WHEN EARTH'S LAST PICTURE IS PAINTED
by Rudyard Kipling
When Earth's last picture is painted
And the tubes are twisted and dried
When the oldest colors have faded
And the youngest critic has died
We shall rest, and faith, we shall need it
Lie down for an aeon or two
'Till the Master of all good workmen
Shall put us to work anew
And those that were good shall be happy
They'll sit in a golden chair
They'll splash at a ten league canvas
With brushes of comet's hair
They'll find real saints to draw from
Magdalene, Peter, and Paul
They'll work for an age at a sitting
And never be tired at all.
And only the Master shall praise us.
And only the Master shall blame.
And no one will work for the money.
No one will work for the fame.
But each for the joy of the working,
And each, in his separate star,
Will draw the thing as he sees it.
For the God of things as they are!
