MATCH STICK ROCKETS
MAY 13, 2013
Robert is always full of fun ideas and clever things!
Melissa was looking for a fun idea for her FHE group activity and Robert
shared this fun idea that I had never heard of before!
"MATCH STICK ROCKETS"
First, you take 2 wooden matches and place the striking tips together.
Then you take a small piece of foil and wrap that around the middle, covering
the striking heads that are touching each other.
Then find an appropriate place outside to stick the match stick rocket into the ground at bit of an angle, like you would a bottle rocket.
Use a lighter and hold the flame of the lighter on the foil.
As it heats up, it will smoke and then ignite the match heads.
This will cause the top match to shoot up like a rocket!!!
Trial and error will help you find the best balance.
The rockets don't shoot astronomical distances so you don't have to worry about
shooting out any windows! :)
I thought they were great fun!
