There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

OCTOBER 11, 2013: SCHOOL IN PANAMA AND ICE CREAM

SCHOOL IN PANAMA AND ICE CREAM
October 11, 2013

Vernon headed off this morning to teach his class.
We all went down to breakfast and were excited that they had Mozzerella sticks as a buffet item!
The pineapple here is heavenly!!! The best ever!!!!  Can't explain how fabulous it is!!  We all eat a ton every morning!!

After breakfast, we exercised in the "gym" at the hotel and then went swimming.  We had done this last night as a family and had a great time!  After our exercise, we all changed and then headed back up to the 7th floor pool deck because the internet connection is better there for us to do some schoolwork.  We kept having internet issues, so I went to the front desk and they suggested we work in the business center of the hotel.  That worked well for this morning.  They mentioned that we might be able to have our own router in our room!  That would be fantastic -- we'll see if that works out.

We were quickly introduced to Panama humidity!  Our books are damp, the camera lens gets fogged (as you see here) and the computer screens fog up!!!
A few unexpected challenges but we can do it!

It is pretty awesome to get to have school on the 7th floor pool deck of a hotel in Panama!!  Fun stuff!!!

Iglesia de Carmen right in the middle.
The Pool Deck

Two and half days and we had eaten basically all the food so after kids finished school, Mom headed out with Benjamin, Rachel and Bethany.  It had all ready started raining for the day so the hotel let us borrow their umbrella.
We decided to buy a treat for the kids and purchased some chocolate chip ice cream!  As we served it up, we realized that is was actually raisin ice cream.
Oh well.  We had all the fixin's for some delicious sub sandwiches!!!!

Rachel wanted to try a plantain -- it isn't as bad has her face depicts.
They are not as sweet as a banana but mostly the texture is tougher.
