There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

MAY 24, 2014: DOG BITE AND MOM'S INFECTED HAND

DOG BITE AND MOM'S INFECTED HAND
MAY 24, 2014

We arrived at the Branch Picnic today and we were the first ones there.  The kids were playing around and there were 2 dogs nearby.  The dogs got excited and the next thing we knew, one of the dogs had bit Mason.  We are pretty sure it was a playful open mouthed dog that came down on Mason and not an actual aggressive bite, but either way, it broke open the skin.  Vernon took Mason home and put some peroxide on it to clean it really good and band aids with triple antibiotic ointment.  He healed up well.

Mom woke up one morning with her left hand hurting. She thought she had just slept on it crooked.  Over the next 48 hours, it continued to hurt and swell until she was in a lot of pain.  We decided it was time to go to the doctor.  It was some sort of infection but we don't know what or why.
Anti-biotics for a week took care of it.

NOTE:  I can't get these pictures from Dad's phone to agree with the blog.  Will try to add later.
