There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

MAY 1, 2014 -- OLD TOWN WITH THE HIATT FAMILY

OLD TOWN WITH THE HIATT FAMILY
MAY 1, 2014

We met the Hiatt  Family at Xing Hai Square to have an outing in Old Town Suzhou.  This is the place with my favoite baozi and jiozi because they are "soup Baozi" and "soup Jiozi" which means that they are so soupy inside that you have to bite a little hole in the top to drink the juice out of OR it squirts everywhere!  PLUS they are fried -- one side is a crispy golden brown!!!
DELICIOUS!!!!!!!

Before we headed out, we offered a bathroom stop.  This is what Rachel found and she came out like "a deer in headlights" and said she would wait!
Just an FYI:  this picture is sidewards.

We were still new in town, and I had forgotten that these kids don't remember riding subways.  This was Rachel on our first subway ride.  A little bit of culture shock is happening.
Bethany and Benjamin had it down quick and had fun hanging
out with the Hiatt kids.

A few fun things in Old Town:
There were some guys selling these riding contraptions that you just stand on and balance and go!  Pretty cool!

A view up the canal along a main road.
 A walk near walking street.

Starting with the left, in the brown striped T-shirt we have

Rebecca, and Connie

It was a holiday weekend so there were tons of people everywhere!!!
Suzhou is a place that Chinese people come for holiday!

Brother Hiatt just got a new toy!!!!
His new motorcycle with a sidecar!!!
So fun for him!
