There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

AUGUST 23, 2014 -- BT CLOSING CEREMONIES

BT CAMP CLOSING CEREMONIES
AUGUST 23, 2014

The kids had a great 7 weeks at their summer camp and they were the only kids who were consistent for the entire camp from day one to the end.  They were a great asset to the camp!
Bethany was promoted to "staff" for the last 3 weeks of camp.  It was a great opportunity for her AND was a good opportunity for your older siblings to support her in her achievement.  :)    Bethany was asked to be the "master of ceremonies" and announce the program that was presented by the campers.
Mr. Martin Leigh -- the principal of the new International School
Josh, the camp director, and Bethany
Mason receives a medal
Yeah for Mason!!!!

Mason's group presented a "Fashion Show!"  Mason had made a "hat" that later turned into a shirt.  He was quite clever.  He showed his "true Richardson boy qualities" and used his skills to meet the required assignment with as little work and "crafty effort" as possible.  It actually takes a lot of smarts to do that successfully!!!  He did a great job!!!

Bethany shines as "Master of Ceremonies"
The kids sing a song about Mao Zedong -- I think.
David and Ben are on the left and Rebecca is next to Ben
Here is Rachel in her long braid.
The older kids also did the dance to "Xiao Ping Guo" which is a very popular song that translates to "My Little Apple."
This little girl was so cute I had to take her picture!
They had a magician come.
David receives a medal
Go David!
From Right to left, you can find Rachel, Benjamin, 3 Chinese campers and then Rebecca.  They are receiving medals for great work at camp.

Bethany and Benjamin used their drama experience to help the group put on a little play of "The Three Little Pigs."  Rebecca was the "Momma Pig."
Go Rebecca!
David was the brick seller

Benjamin was the Narrator, Bethany was the Director and Rachel
was the props manager.

The kids performed a song in sign language
