There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

JUNE 18, 2014: BLUE TASSEL TOUR AND FAMILY OUTING

BLUE TASSEL TOUR AND FAMILY OUTING
JUNE 18, 2014

On Wednesday, the 18th, we went on a tour of a new school in Suzhou.  A group in Britain is opening an international school called “Blue Tassel School of Suzhou.”  They are marketing to professors at Vernon’s university so we went on the tour.  It is still a new venture and they are building dormitories and classroom buildings to open with a new international section for Fall 2015.  The campus is has lots of trees, a canal with the cool Chinese bridges and they have lots of big plans.  We talked to them about the possibility of application for teaching in trade for tuition for our kiddos.  The marketing guy was really positive but I think he would be even if he was thinking “this woman is crazy!”  Amy and I polished up our resumes and sent them off.   If they want to develop a fine arts program, it would be fun to be a part of developing that!  Nothing will likely come of it, but if we could get on campus housing plus our kiddos tuition in trade for our work it would give the kids an international school experience!!!  It is fun to dream.

After we returned to XJTLU, we decided to go on a family outing to Sam's Club and get some yummy bread for dinner from a shop in the mall there.  Big stores like Sam's Club and Wal-Mart and Auschan all are a part of a big mall.
It is just how it works here.

As we walked to the bus stop, we found a sweet little old man playing an Arhu.  We gave him a few coins and then he let us try it out!
 Go David!!

Then mom had a try.  Playing the Arhu makes it hard to sit lady like -- at least on the tiny little stool it is hard!

The kids found an enormous centipede!

The yummy bread!!!

Bethany has a gorgeous smile as we go up the elevator into Sam's.
