BABY CLAIRE and GAME NIGHT
JUNE 30, 2014
Monday, 30th, was our day to receive
Claire. Claire is a little girl from an
orphanage in Suzhou who is being fostered by a family in our branch. The Curtis Family has had her since she was 3
weeks old – about 4 months – but they all ready had plans and plane tickets to
leave this summer before Claire came along.
They can’t take her out of the country, so they needed someone to care
for her. We were asked and the orphanage
agreed so we will get to have little Claire in our home for 2 months – July and
August. Claire has beautiful eyes and is
a happy and calm baby. Claire has a
cleft palate and has really bad eczema.
We have a special bottle that we use to feet her and have learned how to
care for her. We are grateful for this
opportunity to care for her!
Sister Curtis brought Claire over this morning
and we got her things all arranged. The
kids all love her and are so excited to have her here.
Tonight, we had a fun Family Home Evening and we
invited a YSA from our branch, Christian, to come. He is here for 2 months studying
Chinese. The other 3 BYU interns came as
well since we made a standing FHE exchange for the summer with them. We had stir fry and chow mein noodles and ice
cream bars for dessert. We played
several new games that we had just ordered and Dad brought back from the
USA. We are excited to share these fun
new games with everyone at Christmas time!!!
