There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

JULY 2014 : DAY CAMP FOR THE KIDS

BLUE TASSEL DAY CAMP FOR THE KIDS
JULY   2014

The kids had a great first day at camp.  They got 2 T-shirts, hats, backpacks, water bottles and had lots of fun.  I am not sure why it is free except that they Blue Tassel school is working to recruit the children of university professors to join their International school program.  The kids are doing sports, learning Chinese, helping to teach English to Chinese kids, and are building tents, working in teams, etc.  It has been interesting to hear about their experiences.  Mason is the only white skinned and only English speaking child in his group!  After a full week, he still likes to go to his camp!  The other kids are also the only Americans/caucasion kids in their groups.  They say that the Chinese kids don’t participate very well and go sit in the shade on their phones a lot.  Their leaders are mostly British and that is really entertaining for them.  They are enjoying the program.  It is good for them to have a new experience.  They came home tonight all dirty and sweaty!!!  I thought it was fantastic!!!!  The kids are learning some new games.
You will have to ask them to teach you “The Hand Game.”
