There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

JULY 21, 2014: TIM TAM SLAM

TIM TAM SLAM
JULY 21, 2014
Monday night, we had really fun FHE!  The YW Pres. wanted to have an activity but since it was Monday we suggested she just join in our FHE.  So, her and her boyfriend, who is an intern here form BYU, came over and hosted a “Tim Tam Slam” party.  It was crazy chocolate fun!!!  What you do is make hot chocolate, which we did with warm milk and a big spoonful of Nutella.  Then the object is to drink your hot chocolate through a “Tim Tam” cookie.  Since we had 15 people (plus Mason), we divided into 3 teams of 5 and we turned it into a relay.  It was crazy fun!
The requirement was to bite off each end of the Tim Tam and then drink your hot chocolate through the chocolate covered wafer cookie.  A little “snafoozle” was that the gal running our activity had never done it before so she didn’t know what to do when our cookies very quickly disintegrated into our hot chocolate!  So we improvised and we said that you sucked on the cookie like a straw until it was melted so much and falling apart and then you stuffed it into your mouth and used a spoon to slurp the remainder of your hot chocolate.  When the first person’s cup was empty, then person number 2 went and so on through the relay team.  It was a chocolate mess and Rachel proved to have the most fun since she got the messiest!!!    It was fun.
Tonight we looked up “Tim Tam Slam” and found the idea to try it with Twix candy bars!  We also want to try it with those cylinder wafer cookies that are filled with chocolate.  Also, regular hot chocolate would be just fine and less expensive.

Awaiting the games to begin!!!
Mason's team negotiates with him because he doesn't like hot chocolate.

Rachel sort of got a little competitive and crazy - imagine that.
We have never seen anyone spoon feed as fast as James.

 Go Brandon!

 Go Dad!!!!

If mess equals fun -- Rachel had the most fun!
