There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

JUNE 27, 2014: MEXICAN FIESTA AND GAME NIGHT

MEXICAN FIESTA AND GAME NIGHT
JUNE 27, 2014

We have found mold growing in and behind the wallpaper in our master bathroom.  We contacted the landlords and they have been so kind to work to quickly fix the problem.  Today, the landlord came by to see what the problem was and then later she came back and brought us a big basket of "you mei".  You mei is a seasonal fruit that has a very short season and it comes at the beginning of the rainy season.  It is absolutely delicious!!!  It is different than anything else I have ever seen.  It is almost like a tightly packed sea anemone by looks yet the sweetest and juicist fruit ever!
You Mei

we had another day of school and then prepared for a fun “Mexican Fiesta and Game Night.” We invited the BYU interns over and they brought a Chinese gal, Leslie, with them that one of them had gotten to know during their Study Abroad.  It was fun to teach her to make tortillas.  Leslie tried Mexican food for the first time!  Amy made homemade Salsa and homemade flour tortillas that we had with our Burrito Bowls.  It was Delicious!!!

Our new friend Leslie.  She is going to BYU next year!
