There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

JUNE 23, 2014: FHE SWIMMING

FHE SWIMMING
JUNE 23, 2014
Yesterday at church and at the "linger longer" we met 3 new interns from BYU.  They seemed like great guys and we offered to be their family away from home if they desired.  Well, they took us up on the offer and invited us all over to swim on Monday!  We loaded up 3 ebikes with 9 people and headed off for the Howard Johnson Hotel where they are staying.  We took a picnic dinner and had fun getting to know them better.  The kids were excited for PBJ sandwiches, cucumbers, chips and doughnuts for dessert.  We then headed down to the pool and had a great time swimming!
Here is my journal entry for the event:
Tonight, we went to swim at the Howard Johnson hotel pool with Jonathon, Brandon, and James – our new BYU intern friends.  We took over PBJ Sandwiches, chips, pineapple and cucumbers.  It was a huge treat for our kiddos – they have not had peanut butter for 2 months!!!  We also bought chocolate covered doughnuts from Auschan (grocery store) for 2.5 RMB a piece!!!  It is real chocolate, too!  Everyone had a great time playing “Marco Polo”, “Sharks and Minnows” and just splashing around.  Mason got to play with his Spiderman flippers and snorkel that he had gotten for his birthday from Elijah Andrus and he has had it packed in his suitcase to use in China – tonight he got to use it!!  After our picnic and swim, we loaded up our 3 ebikes with 3 people on each and headed home.
