There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

OCTOBER 20, 2012: FLOWERS AND BABY

FLOWERS AND BABY
  OCTOBER 20, 2012

Today was a beautiful sunny Saturday and we cleaned up, beautified and prepped 5 front tree and 2 flower beds for winter!  This is the finished product -- the other tree is done the same.  The yellow mums are so happy!!!  Fall is setting in and the trees are turning their beautiful oranges and red.  Fall in Arkansas is so gorgeous!!!  The cool and cloudy weather scream "Christmas" to me because in Arizona that is what you get for winter!  Our first fall in the midwest, in Champaign, IL, when early October came and fall settled in I was ready to put up the Christmas Tree!  I have adapted a little better by now so we do wait until Thanksgiving weekend to put up the tree and decorations!

Saturday afternoon was really a fun event!  Robert and Alison called us on Skype from Provo, UT and we had a great little visit!  I had bought "ring pops" and passed them out to the kids and Alison asked all the kids to use this as a clue to guess what their big news was!!!  It took some of the kids a little bit, but Bethany clued in quickly and Benjamin made a comment to give hint and said, "I think we should focus more on the 'pop' than the 'ring!'"  He is such a clever boy!  I then passed out Baby Ruth candy bars and the kids all finally got it.  Rachel happened to not be home, but we called her and she screamed with excitement!  Later, Alison called her and she screamed again with excitement for Alison!  We showed the kids the picture of the baby's sonogram -- which now hangs up on our refrigerator!
We are all so excited for Robert and Alison!!!!
Fun times!!!!
Joseph was gone to a band competition all day, so I had actually told him a couple of nights earlier!  He was funny because when I told him Alison was going to have a baby, he had this shocked, confused look on his face for a second then he spread into a huge grin and said, "That's cool!!!"
Matthew, Daniel and David think it is pretty cool that they will be to be an uncle!!!
