There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

OCTOBER 29, 2012: PUMPKINS AND CARAMEL APPLES

PUMPKINS AND CARAMEL APPLES
OCTOBER 29, 2012

We finally had a night when we were ALL home so for our Family Home Evening Activity we carved pumpkins and made caramel apples!  What fun!
The first activity of the afternoon was led by Rachel!  She helped the kids make a ponybead pumpkin key chain!  She even worked for a long time with Mason and helped him string on his beads and make one!!

After our yummy curry dinner --- we carved our pumpkins!  The kids worked well in teams and did it pretty much by themselves after dad trained them all!

Rachel and Daniel made a very scary face on their pumpkin!

Rebecca and Matthew worked hard on theirs!

Joseph and Benjamin worked very hard to keep us in good music while carving those pumpkins!!!

Bethany, David and Mason were a team and made "an evil eye" on theirs.
Mason popped in and out, but in the end he said it was "his" pumpkin!

Of course there had to be some dancing with Louie!

While the kids were carving, Mom made some caramel from scratch!!!
Go Pinterest!
I turned out to be extremely delicious -- just ask Benjamin and Dad!!!  They ate it by the spoonfuls!!

Carve and eat, carve and eat!  What a great evening!
David and Bethany's finished jack-o-lantern!

Daniel and Rachel and their finished product

Rebecca and Matthew did a great job
What fun we had!!!
We have left over caramel for a yummy snack of dipping apples
tomorrow after school!!!
