With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

APRIL 28, 2012: SAT

FREE DIRT
Vernon and I went out early on a walk this Saturday morning, and we past a neighboring lot that is starting to build a house.  The was a dump truck there hauling dirt and we asked if they had extra.  Long story short, we got 4 full loads of red dirt to spread and pack down to level our garden area for the beds!

This got us thinking and sent my brain on fire with an idea!!!  We may jump into a big landscape project with the possibility of more free dirt this Saturday!!!  We had a guy working up a bid for us for building a concrete wall (retaining wall of sorts) down at the pond so that we can fill in with this red dirt and totally level this whole area up to about where are water spiggot is!  We will cover with landscape fabric and pea gravel and  have a "no mow" landscaped area!  I'm so excited!!! Eventually, we will create more garden beds -- if I can keep up with the ones we have for this year!
