There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

MAY 8, 2012 -- TUESDAY

LOTS OF SINGING TONIGHT!

This afternoon, we celebrated Hyrum's last day of classes at FHS with an early dinner at "Loafin' Joes."  It was fun!!  We met there after school because Joseph, Benjamin and Bethany had to be at rehearsal at 5pm.  Hyrum took Rachel and Mason and took care of them for the evening.  Hyrum got Rachel to ice skating this evening as well.  I took care of the others.  The kids were at Honk Jr. rehearsal from 5-8:30pm.  During that time, David and I were buddies and we took at trip to Ozark Natural Foods where I bought some Magnesium Oil and a powder supplement -- due to an article I found on Pinterest!

At 6:30pm,  we picked up Benjamin from rehearsal and ran him over to McNair Middle School for his choir concert.  The directors and teachers were good to work with him so he could do both the concert and rehearsal this evening.

Benjamin -- in the center
Benjamin did a great job singing in the concert and then we ran back to the musical rehearsal downtown and were gone less than one hour!  Amazing!  David and I enjoyed watching the rest of the dress rehearsal and I, of course, took tons of pictures!  I love capturing faces!!!  It was a fun evening for me watching our kids perform.

Benjamin in his second costume -- "Mr. Mom"
Benjamin with "Ugly" and "Ida" (son and wife)

Benjamin in costume to sing "Joy of Motherhood"

Bethany play Ms Turkey

Benjamin, or "Drake",  listens to one of his duckling children

"Drake" stops the "children" to protect them from the "creature"

A bit of a tender moment between "Ida" and "Drake"

The Duck Family

Ms. Turkey (Bethany) reads a proclamation from the Queen Duck

It is a long proclamation!

"Ida" lectures "Drake" a bit

Benjamin sings a solo about there being no "joy" in motherhood!  In the story, he is left behind to care for the 4 other ducklings as "Ida" leaves to search for "Ugly."

The frog is hilarious!

Benjamin has lots of center stage time!  Bethany is there to his right

"Ugly" has transformed to a swan!

Bethany announces "I made it past Thanksgiving!!!"
