There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

FEBRUARY 11, 2015 -- FEBRUARY FLIGHT DAY #17

PHUKET DAY #3
FEBRUARY 11, 2015

Today was our big tour day!  We had to be up and moving fairly early.  We sent Amy and Kelli off to buy us breakfast and they provided bread and cheese for us to eat on the way with the driver.  We had booked a Phang Nga Bay tour and would be gone most of the day.  We drove for about an hour to the other side of the island and our first stop was Monkey Cave.  It was a cave with Buddah statues and lots of monkeys all around.

We then drove for about another 30 minutes and we came to the port area where we got our life jackets and boarded our “long boat”/speed boat for our tour.  The boat took us through the beautiful blue waters.  There were mountain peaks that jutted up in the water hither and thither and it really was beautiful.  We went to a Muslim Fishing Village where we had lunch.  This little village had a mosque and this large restaurant facility and that was about it for the village!  Tons of tourists go through here in waves every day.  Our lunch was fried chicken, rice a couple of vegetable dishes, etc.  It was good.

Our tour guide for the day was names “Happy” and we followed him and re-boarded our longboat and headed off for our next stop.  Again, the ride through the waters was beautiful!  We reached the area for our sea canoe ride.  We boarded these little sea canoes in groups of 2 or 3 people.  Each canoe had a driver and they paddled us out and into these caves.  You had to lay down flat on your back to get under the rock that was just above the water.  It then opened up into these beautiful caverns.  It really was fun!  We have never done anything like this before!

After the sea caves, we got back on the longboat and we went to James Bond Island.  It is a small island where you can look out from the beach and see the rock structure popping up out of the water that was in a James Bond 007 movie.  While there, we took a picture and then the kids all swam out to the rock!  I bought a necklace and helped Bethany bargain for a couple of necklaces.
When we boarded back on the longboat, we were missing a couple from Italy.  They were late coming back and our tour guide was MAD!!!  He chewed them out!  “Happy” was NOT happy!!!  Overall, it was really a great day!

We made it back to the hostel by mid-afternoon.  We decided to walk up to the beach to enjoy the sunset again.  On our way back, we ordered up grilled chicken and corn on the cob for dinner.  We also asked the fruit seller, who was next to the little bbq people, if he would cut up a pineapple for them to grill for us.  He looked at mom like she was a crazy lady, but he did it.  He said that in his 20 years of selling there, no one has ever asked him to do that!  The food was taking a little while to cook, so Dad stayed and waited and I went back with the boys to get them bathed and Amy and Kelli headed off to find some breakfast for us for tomorrow.  We all worked together.  We ate our dinner out on the patio of the front of our hostel and then headed to bed.  We have to leave quite early in the morning for our flight to Bangkok.
