There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

FEBRUARY 9, 2015 -- FEBRUARY FLIGHT DAY #15

TRAVEL KUALA LUMPUR to PHUKETT
PHUKETT DAY #1
FEBRUARY 9, 2015

Our flight this morning left quite early.  We had the car/mini-bus pick us up 5:30am and we arrived at the airport and made our flight which left at 7:40am.

Our KL driver, Manny

We landed in Phukett, Thailand at 9:40am and we had a driver from the hostel pre-arranged to pick us up.  We found an ATM and got money and drove through the winding streets.  The kids counted about 17  7-11 stores and were dreaming of “slurpees” but they don’t make them at these 7-11 stores.  We stayed at the “Baan Kamala Hostel” and it worked out great!  We received a warm welcome and a glass of herbal tea.  We got all checked in and then went and ate lunch at a little restaurant across the street.  We then walked to the beach to just take a look.  We were walking distance to the beach and to the “Fantasea” cultural park.  It was a good location for us.

Lunch

For the evening, we went to the “Fantasea Show and Dinner” and we had a great time!  It was a cultural theme park for tourists, but it was fun to walk around.  We went to the huge buffet dinner and the kids ate and ate and ate!  Because we were a large group, we sat on one side of a great dining hall all by ourselves!  That mean we didn’t have to share the food with anyone!  We had delicious Black Pepper Beef and the “Chocolate Rumbles” were incredible!!!  Dad even went back and asked them to put out more!!!  On the way into the show, we started to get pictures taken but then we figured out that they wanted instant payment for them so we stopped really fast!  The baby tigers weren’t there yet so they told us to come back after the show.  The program was really great!  It told the story of about Kamala, which is the beach area where we stayed, and it had elephants, dancers, trapeze dancers in the air above us and was very entertaining and enjoyable.  After the show, we went back and the kids had pictures taken with a baby tiger and we made our way back to the hostel.  It was a great evening.

There are "Georges" in Thailand!
