There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

FEBRUARY 26, 2015 -- FEBRUARY FLIGHT DAY #32

XIAN DAY #32
FEBRUARY 26, 2015

After our visit to the Terracotta  Soldiers, Mom was curious how much it would actually cost to buy a life-sized Terracotta Soldier.  A man who works at the hostel said he could take us to a factory to show us how the replicas are made and we could negotiate a price.  Dad and I took off without kiddos and went to the factory.  It was pretty cool!  We wished the kids were with us!

The large kilns where the clay is fired.
Filling a kiln and then they will be fired

Our new family member, Helaman

Back at the hostel, we found a game of "Chinese Checkers" for Richard and I to play.

The kids enjoyed the pool table

We enjoyed seeing the city in the afternoon.  We found "Chestnuts Roasting" and Benjamin broke into song....... "Chestnuts Roasting on an open fire....."

We really enjoyed visiting the "Bell Tower" and the "Drum Tower."  There is an interesting history with the towers and their use in ages past.

Our view from up top on the tower

We really enjoyed walking through and shopping in the Muslim Quarters.  It was a very lively and active walking street with lots of food and stuff to buy!

This not cake or pinapple, but dense rice!

Xi'an ice cream bars

One of our most favorite things about Xi'an -- besides the beautiful city wall and the Terracotta Soldeirs -- was the Biang Biang Mian!  It was the most delicious noodles EVER!!!!  The Chinese character for "Biang" is the most difficult character to write of ALL the Chinese characters.  Richard helped us alot in finding good food in Xi'an.

We are finally on our way home from our big 1 month long trip through Asia!  It has been wonderful and something we will never forget!!!  We are tired and are excited to be back home!!!
