There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

FEBRUARY 14, 2015 -- FEBRUARY FLIGHT DAY #20

BANGKOK DAY #2
FEBRUARY 14, 2015

Today we decided to try some different things.  No one really wanted to see more temples.  After awhile, they all look similar and we had seen so, so many Buddah statues by this point in our trip that we were all ready for something different.  Dad and some kiddos headed out and bought smoothies for breakfast.  I stayed behind to help David wash his clothes.  While Dad was out, they found out about the Red Cross Snake Farm that was right across the street from us.  The Red Cross had started this farm as a research center to develop remedies for snake bites.  Evidently, death by snake bite was enough of a problem that there was a need to develop better “anti-venom” medicines.   While there, we watched a snake show, took pictures with the python, and saw other snakes and exhibits.  It was a very interesting place.

David volunteered to be in the show!  Yikes!

Benjamin requested to not go with us, so we met him at the Chamchuri Food Court for lunch.  After lunch, we found an event happening in the main court of the mall and the kids were able to make bracelets for free and had a great time.  We also found some jewelry for sale and we had to buy a couple, of course!  All the proceeds were being donated to a charity for children.  It was a good cause!

After this fun, we surprised the kids and we took them all to Swenson’s for ice cream since it was Valentine’s Day!  They were so excited!  It was fun!

We then went back to the hostel for naps.  In the evening, Kelli had found us a place to go get foot massages so Dad negotiated us a good price and all of us except Ben, Bethany and Mason got 1 hour foot and leg massages.  It was pretty awesome!

One our way back, we did some souvenir shopping – but we had to be careful because there were these horrible bars on the sides so we kept to the front and middle of the street market area.  We found smoothies on the street for dinner and then headed back.  Everyone was able to get a few souvenirs and seemed happy with their purchases.  After we had everyone settled at the hostel, Dad and I took a walk.  We had wanted to go out for ice cream for Valentine’s Day but we took too long shopping for souvenirs and Swenson’s was closed.  Bummer.  We had another good day with new experiences!
