There is a quote: "LIFE IS NOT ABOUT WAITING FOR THE STORMS TO PASS.... IT'S ABOUT LEARNING TO DANCE IN THE RAIN."
With 12 children and 5 adopted from Russia, we have had challenges and trials along with our joys. We have decided that we must
learn how to "dance in the rain." We must notice and acknowledge the joys and miracles in our lives.
They exist daily -- we just need to make sure we do not miss them!! This blog is to remind us of these miracles and joys!

JUNE 18, 2012 -- GATOR GOLF

GATOR GOLF OUTING

Today we had a fun outing and tried our skills at the local "putt putt golf" venue called "Gator Golf."  This used to be a super deal for us when we had several kids still ages 5 and under since "5 and under" are free!!!  We are all growing up so only Mason was free this year.

We learned that Robert is quite the golfer and has amazing strategy with his use of angels and math!  David, Rachel, Robert and Mom all got a  hole in one!

Rachel shows off her hole in 1!

Mason made progress and by the end he was "hitting" or pushing the ball with his little club rather than saying, "No, it doesn't work here.  I have to get closer!"  and then he would take his ball up and place it on the green right next to the hole, tap it in and cheer, "I did it!!"

Though the temperature was to be 91 degrees, there was a really nice breeze and half the course is shaded so we didn't roast at 2pm in the afternoon BUT we did get hot enough to need to go to "Happy Hour" at Sonic for half-price slushies!!!

Bethany on the top and Rebecca on the bottom with her "Justin Bieber purple" golf ball.

The zebra brought lots of entertainment as well!

Benjamin did have a good time, I think, but his favorite part was the slushies!

David is just one of the custest kids ever!!!!

Rachel is still one of the most animated kids ever!!

David looks like he is filming a shot from Hunger Games!!  That is his golf
club, not a bow and arrow, coming out of his back!!!

Robert and Alison Clawson --- we love having them home to visit!!!!

JUNE 18, 2012 -- MONDAY

JOSEPH AT EFY

Joseph left last night for EFY in Denton, Texas.  There are 7 youth from our ward all going to the same session!  I am so excited for them and the fun memories they can share!
I took Joseph shopping on Saturday for a few new things and he got these really cool green Converse!  I was tickled that he wanted to be so bold!  I hope he has a fantastic week!

OFF TO EFY WE GO!!!
Joseph is the second boy from the left!

Joseph and his cool green Converse!  He really was looking sharp and had new clothes for the trip!  Robert also gave him his first shaving lesson Sunday morning!

JUNE 11 -15, 2012 -- GIRLS' CAMP 2012

YOUNG WOMEN GIRLS' CAMP 2012
"MORE FIT FOR THE KINGDOM"

We had a wonderful time at Girl's Camp and we were blessed with miraculous dry and fairly cool weather!  What an enormous blessing!!!

Our girls chose to name our individual camp "Camp Fire Power."  This is our flag!

Rachel is getting settled in her tent and snuggles with her blanket.

Rachel, in braids, with Hannah and Annaliece to her left -- are learning new camp songs!

Rebecca finds one of our camp songs quite funny!

Our girls performed their skit!  It was so cute!  They were synchronized swimmers -- see the water (tarp) in front of them?

Rachel volunteers to help with a presentation on being "fit for the kingdom."

Our Richardson Campers!  Rebecca and Rachel.

Tuesday morning at 7:15am -- it is time for the "Frog Swim!!"  To earn this award, you have to be up and swim in the river at 7:15am and go all the way under and get your hair wet!  Rebecca earned it!

Rachel loved swimming in the river!

Mom, Connie, found Tuesday a wonderfully cool day to relax out in the cool breeze under the trees.  A perfect place for a nap!

The most hilarious song!!!  "Jellyfish."

Connie (Mom) tried out her first dutch oven cooking and made monkey bread!  It was good!

Sweet Rebecca!

Ricky Racoon visited our camp nightly -- this night he got into one of the ice chests and ate our leftover taco meat!!  He left his little foot prints!

Brother Taylor came to camp and spent a few hours to help out the girls!

Goofy Girls!!!  So much fun!!

Our cool camp!!! We raised this big tarp to protect us from rain!
